This past weekend was extraordinary. Someone told me ” Ohhhhhh the places you will go” but they never told me of the people (friends) I would meet….. This experience, was in more ways than one, breath taking. It gave me a chance to relax and not think about the everyday things that trouble me. I am a Disabled Veteran, I suffer from depression and PTSD and this experience allowed me to expel a different type of emotion… To smile, to be free, to experience life out side of my comfort zone. (The best I can) I felt safe, being out on the H2O. Then having the opportunity to meet new fun people and making those lasting friendship. To watching some of my dear friends overcome their own fears of being on the water. With the patience and understanding from the volunteers, knowing that we were Wounded Veterans. Some with visible scars and some that are scared deeply on the inside, but we were treated like we were all family. I truly thank everyone that is connected with Team River Runner for EVERYTHING they have done and will do in the future…….for you have truly saved a live……down by the rivers edge….
