I would just like to thank you for the opportunity to paddle the Grand Canyon that you made possible.
I was injured in Iraq in 2007 with a traumatic brain injury. I spent several months in a coma and the next year in a hospital in different rehabilitation services re-learning to walk, talk, eat, and function. I have become interested in kayaking in the last year and am so impressed with organizations such as Team River Runner that allow healing through the camaraderie built around water sports and the paddling community.

During this trip I was allowed to push myself and do things that the doctors said I would never be able to do again. The time on the river has made me want to make additional positive changes in my life. Overall this experience changed my life for the better and I deeply appreciate the chance that you made possible.
