Simon Jackson sports a mohawk and a power wheelchair. In his kayak, he has become an assistant instructor and safety boater on his chapter’s flat water paddles. His wife says:
“Thank you so much. If you only knew half the joy going out with you brings him – I hear about it all the time. I love seeing that man of mine with a big smile. I’m not sure you guys fully see the impact you have on this retired soldier and his family. You give him the gift of being able to play with his kids in ways that would not be possible by himself. You give him a sense of need and self worth by teaching him to instruct and rescue others. You do all this for a smile and no pay. Thank you each and every one of you who work with Team River Runner.
