Kayakers For Good

ARE YOU IN NEED OF RESOURCES?
WE'RE HERE TO HELP!

Part one: Resource Line

This program is designed to be a listening and referral resource for veterans. Using the button below and filling out the form, veterans can reach out for assistance when facing a problem and could use some additional support looking for potential solutions. Veterans contact the Kayakers for Good Resource team via an online form;  TRR Resource Teammates will reply within 24 hours via phone call or email. This resource team will act as a human Google for veterans. Teammates can be a listening ear or will direct veterans to program for further assistance. If concerned about a loved one or need referrals, or just someone to listen to, we can provide a safe place to talk and give suggestions on how to stay healthy both mentally and physically.

Meet Your Support

These are the wonderful volunteers who will be fielding your requests for resources!

If you are unable to fill out the form above, feel free to give us a call at 540-300-6790

Part two: Heroes Thanking Heroes

Our healthcare workers have given so much to us all during this pandemic and we want to make an opportunity to support their heart-rendering work and thank them. TRR knows how therapeutic being on the water is and we want to provide our healthcare heroes health and healing through paddle sports. It’s our mission and what we do best! Also, we recognize the huge financial hit local kayak/rafting companies have taken/will take this year as a result of the Coronavirus. We are going to connect healthcare workers with a TRR veteran and volunteer event(s) with local kayak/raft rental companies in their hometown. TRR will fund a free paddling experience to the healthcare heroes while supporting local watersport businesses in their area.  Note: This is voluntary event on the part of Chapters to initiate and run. Chapter Leadership needs to vet the program through Regional and National Leadership. TRR National will help with details as needed. Finally, the timeline seems to look like SPRING 2021 will be safer to plan a Heroes Thanking Heroes Event.

The Kayakers for good fund

The funds will be used directly to support veterans. We hope to offer, if possible, assistance with basic necessities. For example, TRR has already shipped 40 bottles of hand sanitizer to more than 20 veterans of one of our Chapters at the request of the Chapter Coordinator. Funds will also be used to create a future “thanks” kayaking program for essential workers when we are able to paddle again.
