Date(s) - 11/07/19 - 11/11/19
This 5-day clinic will welcome 6-10 visually impaired veterans to the beautiful Gulf Coast of Alabama. The veterans will have a chance to explore the beautiful beaches and waterways of the Gulf of Mexico; getting a chance to paddle in the open waters and protected lagoons of the Gulf and the winding waterways of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. Paddlers will learn the skills needed to navigate open waters while adapting to different tides and wave patterns, and spend time maneuvering around the maze of Giant Cypress tree roots that make the local waterways so spectacular.
The visually impaired veterans will be accompanied by a group of 10-15 disabled veterans who will build their own skills in assisting blind paddlers, learning techniques to share with their local team river runner chapters when they return home.
